# Frequency vs HemiSync

The clearest difference is rating: Frequency at 4.7 against HemiSync's 4.2. Frequency also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (340 vs 9). HemiSync's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 70%). On price, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HemiSync sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month. Frequency asks for nothing beyond the download.

Frequency holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Frequency has 340 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Frequency's written reviews are positive against 100% of HemiSync's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Frequency ships an update fortnightly, HemiSync every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
