# AfterDoom vs Scriver

The clearest difference is price: AfterDoom at Free against Scriver's $1.99. AfterDoom also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 73%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 13.0). Scriver's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 3.7) and in-app purchases (none vs 10). On update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

AfterDoom is free to download; Scriver costs $1.99 up front. AfterDoom sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Scriver asks for nothing beyond the download.

Scriver holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scriver has 49 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of AfterDoom's written reviews are positive against 73% of Scriver's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AfterDoom ships an update fortnightly, Scriver every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
