# Smart FLAT vs OverlayGPS

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Smart FLAT at none against OverlayGPS's 1. Smart FLAT also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.6). OverlayGPS's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OverlayGPS sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Smart FLAT asks for nothing beyond the download.

Smart FLAT ships an update every 2 months, OverlayGPS fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
