# Universal Plastic vs the_drop

The clearest difference is update cadence: the_drop at every 2 days against Universal Plastic's every 2 months. Universal Plastic's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Universal Plastic ships an update every 2 months, the_drop every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
