# 5Goals vs Focus Timer

The clearest difference is update cadence: 5Goals at every 3 days against Focus Timer's every 2 months. 5Goals also leads on ratings volume (5 vs 1) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 5Goals sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Focus Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for 5Goals against 5.0 for Focus Timer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 5Goals has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

5Goals ships an update every 3 days, Focus Timer every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 18, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
