# Math Notes vs Solver

The clearest difference is ads: Math Notes at none against Solver's shown. Math Notes also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 10 days) and ratings volume (12 vs 1). Solver's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Math Notes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Solver sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Solver holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Math Notes has 12 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Math Notes ships an update every 3 days, Solver every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
