# SMSPool vs SMS io

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SMSPool at 73% against SMS io's 11%. SMSPool also leads on ads (none vs shown). SMS io's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 3.2) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SMSPool sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and SMS io sells 20 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SMS io holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 16 and 78 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of SMSPool's written reviews are positive against 11% of SMS io's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SMSPool ships an update every 2 weeks, SMS io weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
