# iProtect vs Security Master

iProtect and Security Master both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of iProtect's written reviews are positive against 55% of Security Master's. iProtect also leads on ads (none vs shown). Security Master's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 3 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iProtect sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days and Security Master sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

iProtect holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Security Master has 4K ratings behind it against 39, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of iProtect's written reviews are positive against 55% of Security Master's.

iProtect ships an update every 3 months, Security Master every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
