# EGO Connect vs Monster Remote

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: EGO Connect at none against Monster Remote's 1. EGO Connect also leads on ratings volume (7.6K vs 19) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). Monster Remote's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Monster Remote sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. EGO Connect asks for nothing beyond the download.

EGO Connect holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EGO Connect has 7.6K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of EGO Connect's written reviews are positive against 100% of Monster Remote's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

EGO Connect ships an update every 5 weeks, Monster Remote every 10 days. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
