# Mahjong Camera vs Vododex

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Vododex at none against Mahjong Camera's 1. Vododex also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). Mahjong Camera's advantage is ratings volume (10 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mahjong Camera sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Vododex asks for nothing beyond the download.

Vododex holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mahjong Camera has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Mahjong Camera ships an update every 6 weeks, Vododex fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
