# OCR vs Lectio

The clearest difference is ads: OCR at none against Lectio's shown. OCR also leads on update cadence (daily vs weekly) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 18.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OCR sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Lectio sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

OCR ships an update daily, Lectio weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
