# The Video Compressor vs ChatMCP

The clearest difference is ads: ChatMCP at none against The Video Compressor's shown. ChatMCP also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 weeks) and review sentiment (59% vs 48%). The Video Compressor's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (851 vs 64). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Video Compressor sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and ChatMCP sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

The Video Compressor holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Video Compressor has 851 ratings behind it against 64, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of The Video Compressor's written reviews are positive against 59% of ChatMCP's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Video Compressor ships an update every 2 weeks, ChatMCP every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
