# Flyleaf vs Doomscroll News

The clearest difference is monetization model: Flyleaf at freemium against Doomscroll News's subscription. Flyleaf also leads on ratings volume (91 vs 2) and device support (3 vs 1). Doomscroll News's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 5 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flyleaf sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.00 per month and Doomscroll News sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.00 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Flyleaf against 5.0 for Doomscroll News. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flyleaf has 91 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 99% of Flyleaf's written reviews are positive against 100% of Doomscroll News's.

Flyleaf ships an update every 5 weeks, Doomscroll News every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
