# Merge Dino vs Avid Reader

The clearest difference is update cadence: Avid Reader at weekly against Merge Dino's every 2 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Merge Dino sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Avid Reader sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Merge Dino ships an update every 2 months, Avid Reader weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
