# Evo vs Amber

The clearest difference is price: Evo at Free against Amber's $2.99. Evo also leads on ratings volume (24 vs 2) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). Amber's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On ads, monetization model, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Evo is free to download; Amber costs $2.99 up front. Evo sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Amber asks for nothing beyond the download.

Amber holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Evo has 24 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 83% of Evo's written reviews are positive against 100% of Amber's.

Evo ships an update weekly, Amber fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
