# Shimmerly vs HideSpot

The clearest difference is ads: HideSpot at none against Shimmerly's shown. Shimmerly's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 6 weeks) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 26.2). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shimmerly sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and HideSpot sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shimmerly ships an update every 5 days, HideSpot every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
