# SmartSolve vs Study Buddy

The clearest difference is ads: Study Buddy at none against SmartSolve's shown. Study Buddy also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). SmartSolve's advantage is ratings volume (3.6K vs 331). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SmartSolve sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Study Buddy sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for SmartSolve against 4.6 for Study Buddy. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SmartSolve has 3.6K ratings behind it against 331, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 66% of SmartSolve's written reviews are positive against 59% of Study Buddy's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
