# Taneytown Connect vs RYOBI

The clearest difference is rating: RYOBI at 4.7 against Taneytown Connect's 4.0. RYOBI also leads on ratings volume (13K vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). Taneytown Connect's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

RYOBI holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RYOBI has 13K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Taneytown Connect ships an update every 3 months, RYOBI fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
