# Direct vs MobileTRACS

The clearest difference is rating: Direct at 4.3 against MobileTRACS's 3.0. Direct also leads on review sentiment (59% vs 25%) and ratings volume (33 vs 5). MobileTRACS's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Direct holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Direct has 33 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 59% of Direct's written reviews are positive against 25% of MobileTRACS's.

Direct ships an update every 5 weeks, MobileTRACS fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
