# TAG Remote vs Gear Valet

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: TAG Remote at none against Gear Valet's 1. TAG Remote also leads on ratings volume (171 vs 2) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 26.0). Gear Valet's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gear Valet sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per year. TAG Remote asks for nothing beyond the download.

Gear Valet holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TAG Remote has 171 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

TAG Remote ships an update every 6 weeks, Gear Valet weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
