# THINGS LAB vs Pre

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Pre at none against THINGS LAB's 1. Pre also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. THINGS LAB sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $7.00 per month. Pre asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for THINGS LAB against 5.0 for Pre. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pre has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
