# Simple Notes vs NotedUp

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: NotedUp at none against Simple Notes's 1. NotedUp also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). Simple Notes's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (11 vs 1). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simple Notes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. NotedUp asks for nothing beyond the download.

NotedUp holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simple Notes has 11 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Simple Notes ships an update every 2 weeks, NotedUp every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
