# QR Scanner vs Time Tracker

The clearest difference is monetization model: QR Scanner at freemium against Time Tracker's subscription. QR Scanner also leads on review sentiment (89% vs 64%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.1). Time Tracker's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. QR Scanner sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Time Tracker sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

QR Scanner holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 130 and 113 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 89% of QR Scanner's written reviews are positive against 64% of Time Tracker's.

QR Scanner ships an update fortnightly, Time Tracker weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
