# WonderPen vs Leaf Note

The clearest difference is monetization model: Leaf Note at free against WonderPen's freemium. WonderPen's advantage is ratings volume (9 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WonderPen sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Leaf Note sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.0 for WonderPen against 4.0 for Leaf Note. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WonderPen has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

WonderPen ships an update fortnightly, Leaf Note every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
