# Olight vs AMSOIL

The clearest difference is ads: AMSOIL at none against Olight's shown. AMSOIL also leads on review sentiment (54% vs 28%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Olight's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.2). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Olight holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 60 and 263 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 28% of Olight's written reviews are positive against 54% of AMSOIL's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Olight ships an update every 11 days, AMSOIL fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
