# Stratos vs NuKey

The clearest difference is ads: NuKey at none against Stratos's shown. NuKey also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 3 weeks) and ratings volume (40 vs 6). Stratos's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 70%) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stratos sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and NuKey sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NuKey holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NuKey has 40 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Stratos's written reviews are positive against 70% of NuKey's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Stratos ships an update every 3 weeks, NuKey daily. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
