# MyEDGE eReader vs Cat

The clearest difference is update cadence: Cat at every 3 weeks against MyEDGE eReader's every 2 months. MyEDGE eReader's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MyEDGE eReader ships an update every 2 months, Cat every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
