# AKASO vs Hiicam

The clearest difference is rating: AKASO at 4.4 against Hiicam's 3.7. AKASO also leads on ratings volume (231 vs 22). Hiicam's advantage is review sentiment (38% vs 25%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

AKASO holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AKASO has 231 ratings behind it against 22, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of AKASO's written reviews are positive against 38% of Hiicam's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AKASO ships an update every 5 weeks, Hiicam every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
