# Bookwise vs Bookdot

Bookwise and Bookdot both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 90% of Bookdot's written reviews are positive against 69% of Bookwise's. Bookwise's advantage is ratings volume (763 vs 66) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bookwise sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Bookdot sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bookdot holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bookwise has 763 ratings behind it against 66, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 69% of Bookwise's written reviews are positive against 90% of Bookdot's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
