# MaxU vs Forma

The clearest difference is rating: Forma at 5.0 against MaxU's 4.2. MaxU's advantage is ratings volume (44 vs 1) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MaxU sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Forma sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Forma holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MaxU has 44 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

MaxU ships an update every 3 days, Forma every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
