# Gradient Synth vs AURI

The clearest difference is rating: AURI at 5.0 against Gradient Synth's 4.4. AURI also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). Gradient Synth's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (63 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gradient Synth sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year and AURI sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AURI holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gradient Synth has 63 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Gradient Synth ships an update monthly, AURI every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
