# OnMat Edge vs Sci

The clearest difference is rating: Sci at 4.2 against OnMat Edge's 1.0. Sci also leads on ratings volume (6 vs 1). OnMat Edge's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 26.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Sci holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sci has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

OnMat Edge ships an update every 8 days, Sci every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
