# Random vs getChatter

The clearest difference is rating: getChatter at 5.0 against Random's 3.2. Random's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 5) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. getChatter sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Random asks for nothing beyond the download.

getChatter holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Random has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Random ships an update every 3 days, getChatter every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
