# The Detractor vs Edge Survival

The clearest difference is rating: Edge Survival at 5.0 against The Detractor's 3.6. Edge Survival also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 5 months). The Detractor's advantage is ratings volume (28 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Detractor sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Edge Survival sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Edge Survival holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Detractor has 28 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

The Detractor ships an update every 5 months, Edge Survival every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
