# WordTower vs Readex

The clearest difference is update cadence: Readex at every 3 days against WordTower's weekly. Readex also leads on ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WordTower sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Readex sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for WordTower against 5.0 for Readex. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Readex has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

WordTower ships an update weekly, Readex every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
