# Hydra vs Ravvie

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Ravvie at none against Hydra's 5. Ravvie also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 75%) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks). Hydra's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (824 vs 16). On price, rating, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hydra sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Ravvie asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Hydra against 4.8 for Ravvie. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hydra has 824 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 75% of Hydra's written reviews are positive against 100% of Ravvie's.

Hydra ships an update every 3 weeks, Ravvie every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
