# Cryptid Coordinates vs SPI

The clearest difference is update cadence: Cryptid Coordinates at every 5 days against SPI's every 6 weeks. Cryptid Coordinates also leads on review sentiment (82% vs 60%) and ratings volume (43 vs 7). SPI's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cryptid Coordinates sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and SPI sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SPI holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cryptid Coordinates has 43 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Cryptid Coordinates's written reviews are positive against 60% of SPI's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cryptid Coordinates ships an update every 5 days, SPI every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
