# Bracket Maker vs Golf Journal

The clearest difference is update cadence: Golf Journal at weekly against Bracket Maker's monthly. Bracket Maker's advantage is ratings volume (84 vs 12). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bracket Maker sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Golf Journal sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Bracket Maker against 4.8 for Golf Journal. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bracket Maker has 84 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Bracket Maker ships an update monthly, Golf Journal weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
