# Linguin vs Watch Your Language

The clearest difference is rating: Watch Your Language at 5.0 against Linguin's 4.2. Watch Your Language also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 days vs fortnightly). Linguin's advantage is ratings volume (169 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Linguin sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and Watch Your Language sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Watch Your Language holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Linguin has 169 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Linguin ships an update fortnightly, Watch Your Language every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
