# CDL Prep vs US DMV Test

The clearest difference is ads: CDL Prep at none against US DMV Test's shown. CDL Prep also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (175 vs 20). US DMV Test's advantage is update cadence (daily vs every 4 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CDL Prep sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and US DMV Test sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CDL Prep ships an update every 4 months, US DMV Test daily. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
