Talk to a lawyer by phone or video, in Belgium or in France, from your iPhone. Avocat20min puts you in touch with a lawyer admitted to the bar, in two ways: a 20-minute call with an available lawyer, or a video consultation with the lawyer you choose. A LAWYER ON THE PHONE, 20 MINUTES No appointment to book, no subscription, no commitment. • Describe your situation in a few lines and pick your area of law: immigration, employment, family, tenancy and property, criminal, consumer, business, tax, and more. • You pay a €20 referral fee. It is only charged once a lawyer has been found. • An available lawyer, competent in your area and speaking your language, calls you back. During office hours, that is within 30 minutes in the vast majority of cases. • You then receive a written summary of the consultation. Our guarantee: if no lawyer calls you back within 30 minutes, you are called back within 24 hours. If we cannot manage it, you are refunded in full. A VIDEO CONSULTATION WITH THE LAWYER OF YOUR CHOICE • Search the directory by city, area of law or language. • On the lawyer's profile, pick a package, a length and a price including VAT, then a free slot in their calendar. • Pay the fee in the app and the appointment is confirmed at once. The payment goes straight to the lawyer: the platform takes nothing. • Attach your documents when you book. They are encrypted, and only your lawyer can open them. • At the time of the appointment, join the room from the app after testing your microphone and camera. Nothing is recorded. • Cancel up to 24 hours before the appointment for a full refund. BELGIUM OR FRANCE Choose your country when you open the app, and switch at any time with one tap. Each country has its own lawyers, directory and account. ALSO IN THE APP • Your appointments, documents and summaries in one place • Your favourite lawyers • Legal questions asked by others, answered by lawyers • In Belgium: legal aid (pro deo) and notice period calculators, and a guide to legal expenses insurance ARE YOU A LAWYER? The app gives you your client requests, your calendar, your video consultations and your earnings, wherever you are. CONFIDENTIALITY AND PROFESSIONAL SECRECY For the 20-minute consultation, your number is never shown to the lawyer, nor theirs to you: the call goes through an anonymised number. Summaries and documents are encrypted. The lawyers who take these calls are vetted by us: bar admission checked, confidentiality undertaking signed. Available in English and French, and in Dutch for Belgium. Avocat20min does not provide legal advice: we put you in touch with independent lawyers, who alone are responsible for the advice they give.
