# TypoGenius vs AlterEgo

The clearest difference is update cadence: TypoGenius at every 5 weeks against AlterEgo's every 6 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TypoGenius sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and AlterEgo sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TypoGenius ships an update every 5 weeks, AlterEgo every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
