# Nexar Connect vs DashCam Recorder

The clearest difference is monetization model: DashCam Recorder at free against Nexar Connect's subscription. DashCam Recorder also leads on review sentiment (73% vs 39%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.4). Nexar Connect's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (1.4K vs 247). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Nexar Connect against 4.5 for DashCam Recorder. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nexar Connect has 1.4K ratings behind it against 247, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 39% of Nexar Connect's written reviews are positive against 73% of DashCam Recorder's.

Nexar Connect ships an update every 3 weeks, DashCam Recorder every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
