NullVault is a private, encrypted home for sensitive photos, videos, documents, files and notes. It works without a NullVault account: draw a pattern to open a vault and keep each part of your life separate. HIDDEN VAULTS AND PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY Each eligible pattern opens its own hidden vault, and NullVault never displays a master list of your vaults. This design supports plausible deniability during ordinary app use: you can open one vault without the interface revealing whether other vaults exist. It is not a claim of forensic invisibility; device backups, filesystem history or advanced examination may reveal encrypted data or activity without revealing the protected contents. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No NullVault account, email address or phone number required • Files are encrypted on your iPhone before they are stored • Each eligible pattern can open a separate vault • There is no master screen listing all of your vaults • A privacy cover protects app content when NullVault leaves the foreground ENCRYPTION TECHNOLOGY NullVault uses AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption to protect vault metadata and content. Patterns are processed with Argon2id, a memory-hard password-based key derivation function. HKDF-SHA-256 and HMAC-SHA-256 provide domain-separated key derivation and authentication, while 24-word BIP-39 recovery phrases are generated from secure random entropy. The implementation uses Apple CryptoKit and the open-source libsodium library; NullVault does not use a proprietary cipher. STORE WHAT MATTERS Import selected photos, videos and documents, capture with the camera, or create encrypted notes. Choose original quality or optimized storage for compatible media. Export only the items you select. ORGANIZE WITH COLLECTIONS Group related items into encrypted collections without creating duplicate files or using storage twice. Every item remains in your Library and can appear in more than one collection. Removing an item from a collection—or deleting the collection itself—does not delete the original item from your vault. NullVault Free includes one collection per vault, while NullVault Pro includes unlimited collections. RECOVERY YOU CONTROL Every vault has its own 24-word recovery phrase. Keep it somewhere safe: NullVault has no account recovery and cannot recover a lost pattern or phrase for you. OPTIONAL ENCRYPTED BACKUP FEATURES NullVault can encrypt a vault on your device before backing it up to your personal iCloud account. Encrypted backup is available with NullVault Free and Pro. Restore from version history when you have the recovery phrase. NullVault Pro also lets you share controlled, read-only access using a separate private phrase, with expiration, export controls and revocation. Shared-vault recipients can view the vault’s collections but cannot modify them. PROTECTION UNDER PRESSURE NullVault Pro can designate a duress vault. Opening its pattern immediately removes access to every other local vault on that iPhone. This is irreversible and does not erase copies that another person has already exported. NULLVAULT FREE AND PRO NullVault Free includes up to 5 local vaults, 20 total items across all vaults, one collection per vault, encrypted backup, and accent and pattern-grid customization. NullVault Pro adds unlimited vaults, items and collections subject to available storage, controlled read-only sharing, duress vault configuration and alternate app icons.
