# Self vs Prisme

The clearest difference is update cadence: Prisme at every 3 weeks against Self's every 4 months. Self's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Self sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Prisme sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Self ships an update every 4 months, Prisme every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
