# MergeKey vs Comet

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: MergeKey at none against Comet's 3. MergeKey also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 65%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Comet's advantage is ratings volume (7.8K vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Comet sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $20.00 per month. MergeKey asks for nothing beyond the download.

MergeKey holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Comet has 7.8K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of MergeKey's written reviews are positive against 65% of Comet's.

MergeKey ships an update every 4 days, Comet every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
