# Verychat vs botcamp

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Verychat at none against botcamp's 8. Verychat also leads on ratings volume (40 vs 7). botcamp's advantage is rating (4.1 vs 3.8) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. botcamp sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Verychat asks for nothing beyond the download.

botcamp holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Verychat has 40 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Verychat's written reviews are positive against 50% of botcamp's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Verychat ships an update every 3 weeks, botcamp every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
