# CompTIA Security+ Prep vs Security+ Pro

The clearest difference is update cadence: Security+ Pro at every 3 weeks against CompTIA Security+ Prep's every 4 months. CompTIA Security+ Prep's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CompTIA Security+ Prep sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Security+ Pro sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CompTIA Security+ Prep ships an update every 4 months, Security+ Pro every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 17, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
