# HyNote vs Secure Traveler

The clearest difference is monetization model: HyNote at free with in-app purchases against Secure Traveler's subscription. HyNote also leads on ratings volume (7.7K vs 4) and chart position (#133 vs unranked). Secure Traveler's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HyNote sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Secure Traveler sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Secure Traveler holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HyNote has 7.7K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.
