Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: NextSpin at 100% against Record Club's 68%. NextSpin also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.7) and device support (3 vs 1). Record Club's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks) and ratings volume (65 vs 12). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Record Club sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and NextSpin sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
NextSpin holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Record Club has 65 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 68% of Record Club's written reviews are positive against 100% of NextSpin's.
Record Club ships an update fortnightly, NextSpin every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
